For an avid cook and entertainer this outdated 60’s kitchen was too isolated from the family, dining and living rooms and was starved for storage and working space. To provide more room and better connection to the entertaining areas of the home, walls were removed between the kitchen, sewing room, stair hall and family room.
A central, multipurpose island makes the most of a narrow space with an eating bar and attached pedestal supported table with furniture like dark stained maple butcher block tops.
The goal of the design was to create a warm, contemporary, professionally equipped kitchen with specific functional areas for dishwashing, food preparation, baking and family dining.
