The client wanted to create a space that allowed for seating out of the traffic flow, an area for an “office” with additional storage, more cabinet space and defined work areas. This was provided by adding an peninsula to remove a table in the middle of the room, moving the fridge and full height storage to the end of the room to open up the width and changing the patio door to a french door to give more exterior wall space.
The balance achieved by using the contrasting colours of the floor and backsplash with the lighter cabinets and stainless steel fixtures along with the strategically placed lighting makes the kitchen an inviting and open space.
